Boden isn’t a brand I was remotely aware of, in my pre-mummy days. The only online shop I visited then was ASOS (usually in a Christmas party panic which led me to order eight sequined dresses and return seven of them.) But when you have your first baby, a few things happen in quick succession:
- You become an expert in things you didn’t even know exist before. TENS machines, breast pumps, applying Sudocrem and Daddy Pig to name just a few.
- Brands shoot onto your radar from nowhere. You become obsessed with scouring JoJo Maman Bebe, Mothercare and Mamas and Papas for the cutest sleepsuits/best weaning spoons/warmest winter coat.
- You find yourself suddenly on the mailing lists of numerous companies (yes, thank you Bounty, for that) who tempt you with introductory offers and glossy catalogues.
For two years, I’ve managed to be strong to the lure of mini Boden, dismissing it to friends and family as “far too expensive” as I smugly headed to supermarkets to stock up on mega cheap clothes for my daughter.
But today, 28th September 2012, I finally caved. Johnnie Boden sent me (probably not personally, although I like to imagine him sealing all the envelopes himself) a voucher offering £10 off on top of 10% off and free P+P. For real! As if that’s even an offer that anyone could resist. So I didn’t resist. I bought two dresses from the mini Boden range. Want to see them? You do, don’t you. But more importantly, I want to show them off…
Fun Logo Dress, £21.60-£23.40
Fun Hotchpotch Jersey Dress, £14 – £17.60
I feel slightly disappointed in myself for caving. But more than that, I can’t wait for the dresses to arrive. Yippeeee!
Ooh with dresses like that I may have to be sucked in too..!
Gorgeous dresses! And freaky, I’ve just been browsing Boden with a similar voucher – £10 and 15% off – for my little guy. I too have never shopped with Boden before, assume they got my addy from Bounty and am now really really tempted – great direct marketing Johnnie…
You’re going to hate me, but Johnnie Boden sent me a £15 voucher plus 10% off. I also caved. Green colour pop gilet and navy cord trousers with floral turnups now on their way. I love Boden, just like to hang around until a bargain is on offer. Otherwise I’d be spending more on a dress for my toddler than I would ever spend on myself. It’s for special occasions and sales. LOVE your choice of dresses!
Gorgeous clothes!
Ha! It’s a fact of life when you have a daughter. GG inspired a video of her wishlist (my first ever vlog) before I had ever heard of a sponsored post or a review, so I’m doubly hook, line and sinkered!
I’ve just clicked your link to Mini Boden. I’m going to regret this aren’t I?

Yes! (But tell me – what did you buy?)
