Has anyone else ENJOYED the fact that the temperature has dipped and it feels like autumn has finally kicked in? Don’t get me wrong, I loved the warm days we had in September and early October, but there’s something so delicious about cosying up, lighting a candle, eating comfort food (lasagne anyone?) and drinking wine while watching Strictly…
But as summer turns to autumn, the weather begins to cool and the leaves start to change colour (then go sludgy brown underfoot – ick) there are still plenty of adventures to be had with the family.
Over October half-term, we’ve hit the park with our bikes, done a nature trail and also there’s been a lot of… just mooching. Because the school holidays don’t have to be packed with big days out or pumpkin picking or Halloween activities, right? Never mind the fact that my five-year-old twins are ex-HAUST-ed from their first six weeks of primary school. They need a break! And so do we.
So mooching has been the name of the game.
Big shout out to Very who have got loads of autumn mooch-worthy outfits. For those crisp autumn days, a cosy jumper is a must-have. Very offers a variety of options, from chunky knits to sleek turtlenecks. Pair your jumper with a comfortable pair of jeans and ankle boots for a chic and effortless look. If you’re planning on spending time outside, consider adding a stylish puffer jacket or a cool chunky coat.
On rainy days, there are lots of outerwear options, including parkas and raincoats. These pieces are perfect for taking a walk in the park or going on a family bike ride. Plus, they’re versatile enough to be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
Very’s range of jumpsuits is fantastic. My denim one is super comfy, with elasticated cuffs and a zip down the front which makes those quick loo visits easy. I’ve paired it with these oh-so-sweet pink New Balance trainers and the cosiest of cosy coat from the Lucy Mecklenburgh range. Finished off with a cosy grey Accessorize pom pom hat and black cross body bag, and I’m ready for a day out with my family.
If denim dresses are more your thing then check out Very’s range – whether you’re braving bare legs or embracing black tights, these look awesome. Their midi dresses are gorgeous too and if maxi dresses are your cup of tea, you’re in luck.
We went to some local Bromley shops – The Larder deli – for a look at their pies, and then their sister coffee shop down the road – The Little Larder – for some lunch. If you’re ever in the area, check out these places and also pop into Beldi Maison, the most amazing Moroccan inspired gift shop and The Lavender House cafe which has a great kids’ play area in the garden. It’s the best place for autumn mooching!
So overall, the transition from summer to autumn doesn’t mean sacrificing style or comfort. With the right pieces from Very, you can have both. So get ready to embrace the changing seasons and ma ke some memories with your family in the perfect outfit.
