Making A Statement With A Necklace

I’ve got a bit of a thing for a statement necklace. I mean, how many other things can you just sling on, no matter what else you’re wearing, and know you’ll instantly look smarter and on-trend? Without even realising, statement necklaces have become a bit of a signature look for me. Two friends clubbed together to buy me a beauty of a necklace for my birthday recently, saying “Well we know you love a statement necklace,” and another gave me a bracelet, saying “I know you’ve got a lot of necklaces so I thought a bracelet would be nice.” They’re now officially “my thing”.

My boss at work has recently started buying and wearing statement necklaces and even teases me, saying she’s stealing my look. To be fair, though, it’s not solely my look, so I really don’t mind.

My favourite way to rock a statement necklace is over a striped tee, with skinny jeans and heels. Is there any occasion that this outfit doesn’t suit? I wear it to work, out for drinks, meeting friends, family lunches and, swapping the heels for hi-tops, even the park.

Here are some of my favourites on the high street right now…

They just add something special to an outfit, don’t they?

I love a good statement necklace too! I’m especially a big fan of the trend for neon necklaces at the moment. Lovely!
