My Little Bird By Jools Haul

Gorgeous retro kids' clothing from Little Bird by Jools

If you read fashion and beauty blogs you’ll be aware of the concept of a “haul” – it’s basically blogger speak for ‘hey, look at the cool stuff I just bought!’ Us bloggers are proper show offs. We love to talk about our lives, take photos of everything and harp on about pretty/cool stuff we have. Here is uber blogger Zoella showing off a homeware haul (if my kitchen and bedroom looked that nice, I’d show it off too) and here is beauty blogger Essie Button with a beauty haul from a trip to Sephora in California. Oh – by the way – if you’ve never heard of those bloggers, that’s OK. But you should know they’re as famous as Beyonce and Rihanna put together. So if you want to feel down with the kids, check out their blogs.

But back to me….

I had a proper splurge this week on clothes for the three-year-old. She’s not short of clothes – I’m the first to admit that – but she has a whole month of birthday parties coming up, including her own one, so I thought I’d treat her to some new outfits. I popped into Mothercare on my way back from the gym and bought her three outfits from the gorgeously retro Little Bird By Jools range. Which is your favourite?

I’ve totally fallen for the Little Bird range. Reminds me of the clothes I grew up in, which I suppose is her inspiration too. We have the “Hello Bye Bye” t-shirt too! Best thing is that it’s all pretty affordable, as so much funky kids wear comes with such a hefty price tag. Of course, I did still spend quite a lot….!

Totally and utterly love Little Bird just wish there were more boys bits. My little one rocked some great Little bird t-shirts on holiday in the South of France making him look like a retro throwback. Love all of these outfits but that t-shirt and skirt one has my heart. x

The great thing is, lots of it is unisex (obvs not the dresses and skirts!) These socks are actually in the ‘boys’ section and the shoes are on the website in blue, worn by a boy!

I am now going to use the word HAUL as much as possible. Ironically, I went to Mothercare on Sunday, came away with a HAUL including a new buggy, but nothing from Little Bird. I did love the little red and rainbow trainers they had, and yes, l also love the hello bye bye t-shirt.

The stuff is so retro it makes me want to buy it and put it in the loft as a collector’s thing!

I love the orange dress, I stopped into my local Mothercare a couple of weeks ago but they had nothing in Cherry’s size. Cant’ wait to kit her out in it, their range is so gorgeous! x

I’ve loved Jools since I read her pregnancy book when I was expecting Ben, and always love everything from the Little Bird range – we’ve got those shoes, and I’m actually just off to buy that red skirt, so thanks for posting, ha!

I just know if vlogging had been this infuential when I was at uni I’d be feverishly writing away at my dissertation on YouTube and consumerism and the culture of ‘hauls’ ; )

Love the current Little Bird stuff. Between that and Donna Wilson for John Lewis, my kids are going to be having a bright and stylish A/W.

Wow, when did Mothercare get so funky?? I love the hello t-shirt – I am a total sucker for rainbow colours.

Oh I’ve got to get myself into my local Mothercare store! These outfits are mega cute. I think my fave is the orange dress!

Absolutely love this collection, I have bought the orange dress, a blue flowery dress (same pattern as the reversible bag) and the tights. Such a great collection, so tempted to go out and buy some more pieces!

  18. September 4, 2014 / 1:42 pm

gawd I’m so jealous that you have a girl and can buy all this for her! When I first saw it I totally wished I had one! Good work!

  19. September 5, 2014 / 10:55 pm

I nearly bought the denim dress the other day! There’s also a really cute green one. Will be going back tomorrow now x

I really love the retro feel to her collection and that they are actually children’s clothes not kids clothes that look like mini versions of grown up ones. I really love the hello top and I’m thinking of getting it for my son as I reckon it’s pretty unisex

I love the Orange Dress! I have to actually shamefully admit that I always look in the girls section when walking into clothes shops (even though I only have two boys) and I fall in love with that Orange Dress everytime! really wish there was an adult version haha!
I’m sure your girlie will look adorable in it 🙂

very occasionally I get a pang of ‘oh I wish I had a girl’ and when ranges come out like this it doesn’t help! The Little Bird range is ACE for boys too, most of Wilf’s summer outfits were from there but these dresses…they are just amazing! xx

i love the collection it’s my new weakness. I grew up on very similar clothing inspiration late 70’s early 80’s and wish this range had been around when i had my first daughter 25 years ago!!

i would like the range to expand a bit to include more dress’s and skirts as my 3 year old loves dress and skits… but all the unisex bits will go to my sister whom is about to have her boy!!
