Since my recent post on things that make me happy, I’ve thought quite a lot about happiness and I’ve decided to write regularly about things that make me smile – partly inspired by one of my favourite bloggers Kathryn, who writes Kat Got The Cream, and who regularly posts a Happy List. So here goes…
First up, the amazing print above – made by The Lovely Drawer and on sale at Not On The High Street for £20. I think this would look great next to my desk at home.
Our new cat. Well, we are kind of cat-sitting her, long-term, for a friend who has just moved into a small flat. We’ve had Thumbles (aka Baby Puss aka Puss Face) for a month now and she’s already a member of the family. She loves curling up at my feet when I’m in bed. She loves being chased by the four-year-old while she shouts “HELLO PUSS PUSS!” a little less.
Days out with the family. Last week, we went on The London Eye followed by a trip down the river to Greenwich on the Thames Clipper – SO MUCH FUN. We did nothing in Greenwich apart from eat cake (me) and ice cream (the four-year-old) before coming home, but this weekend, we will be heading to Greenwich Theatre where we’ve been invited to see Adventures With Sam: In Outer Space, an interactive theatre show for kids. Apart from the obligatory Peppa Pig Live, we haven’t done much kids’ theatre yet, but I’m so excited to start going to more productions. Growing up, we went to see endless family shows, and I have such brilliant memories of trips to the theatre.
Beautiful stationery. I’ve got my eye on a desk planner by Betty Etiquette and I might also splash out on a notebook or three.
Travel plans. We’re trying to pack in as much fun stuff before the four-year-old goes to school in September, so we have lots of exciting things ahead – from a planned visit to Alton Towers (and CBeebies Land), a trip to Devon and Cornwall and a week in Portugal. Where else should we go, while we have the chance?
Easter! Well, more specifically, Easter eggs. We’ve bought a giant Kinder egg for the four-year-old (can’t wait to see her face when she sees it) but we’ve got some rather amazing grown up Easter treats c/o Guylian and Hotel Chocolat. There’s a small chance these eggs might have been eaten already. And they might have been delicious.
What’s been making you smile this week?
That Easter egg from Hotel Chocolat wouldn’t last long here… I try not to walk past the one in my shopping centre otherwise I have to stop and buy chocolates to eat as I’m shopping! Your new lodger looks really happy there. What to do before your little one starts school? Go away on holidays during term-time / farms / soft play etc. on a week day. Our little girls will be in the same year group!
Oh my…that easter egg looks soon good! Roll on the weekend 🙂 I love a good old happy list too xx
That print is amazing!! It totally got me singing the song 😉 Your kitty is gorgeous. I am a proper cat lady 🙂 x
Hey hey, thanks for the shout out (which made me happy not surprisingly). Loving your happy list, more of this please and p.s. I think I need that print! xx
I usually do a list of things that make me smile on a Monday but I didn’t get chance to post one this week 🙁 I always like to look back on the small things that have made a difference in the week!
That Guylian egg looks amazing and I NEED IT. I love family days out too, even if it’s not a big expensive day trip it’s nice to get out and about. We are going to see In The Night Garden live in July and I am super excited! I hope Elsa will be able to sit still long enough to appreciate it 🙂
My after eights easter egg definitely made me smile this week 😉
I LOVE that print xx
I love that print and your new long term cat sitting chum is gorgeous! Have a wonderful Easter x
Oh my god I’m not eating sugar anymore but the sight of that egg almost made me take a bite out of my computer!! x
I love your list and I LOVE that desk planner!! We’re away travelling this Easter so I feel like we’ve cheated ourselves out of getting to eat chocolate – I need to rectify that, your chocolate egg makes me want to take a bite out of it!
Lovely list. That print made me smile too. We’ve done lots of children’s plays and it’s given us some amazing memories. Never done Peppa Pig though I’m thinking about taking T to see Octonauts in a few weeks.
I love this happy list and excited to her that you’re going to keep of as a regular piece, I might be inspired to do the same 🙂 I’m also trying to cram in loads of trips before F starts school too! Hope you have fun they sound great. X
Oh CBeebies Land is so amazing! You will have such a lovely time. Have a super Easter chick! x
I didn’t realise your adopted cat was a new addition! I’m such a cat lady, we love having them around the house (we have two) and they are so great for kids too. What a beauty she is! x
