Having had a bit of a mini break addiction in my 20s, it’s no surprise that as soon as I had my daughter, I set about looking for the best baby and child-friendly hotels and holidays. We’ve been lucky enough to stay at lots of places in the UK and Europe, and I’ve reviewed many here and over on family travel blog Space In Your Case, but I thought it might be useful to round up five of my favourites…
1. The Elms, Worcestershire, England
The Elms is one of those places that you feel calmer, as soon you walk into the reception area. It’s so peaceful here – with birds tweeting in the garden and the sound of a water fountain trickling – that you barely even notice toddler stomping around and the odd baby crying. There’s a brilliant spa here and the kids’ club is fantastic. Read my full review.
2. Las Palmeras, Mallorca
Las Palmeras is a luxury villa near Pollença in Mallorca and while not cheap, it’s affordable if you get together with another family. Scott Dunn provide a chef, nanny and a villa host, who will ensure you have the most relaxing holiday ever. Pretty much all food and drink is included in the price, along with airport transfers. 3. Martinhal Beach Resort, Sagres, Portugal
This luxury hotel on the Algarve has something for everyone – pools to splash around in and fab play areas, if you’re a kid and a spa and fin dining restaurant if you’re a grown up. Most of the accommodation are small apartments or villas, giving you flexibility to eat there and let little ones nap, while you relax on the terrace. Read my full review.
4. Pine Cliffs, Albufeira, Portugal
Pine Cliffs is ideal for a multi-generation holiday – it’s set on a golf course meaning grandparents can golf (if they so wish!) or chill, while there’s lots for kids to do, from swimming to hiring bikes and the adventure playground. Like Martinhal, the accommodation is apartments with kitchens so you can have breakfast there every day before setting off to have fun. Read my full review.
5. Mark Warner Levante, Rhodes, Greece
If you need a proper break from day to day life, you probably can’t get anything better than the Mark Warner Levante resort. As well as 5* facilities and activities like watersports included, they have a top notch childcare facility with the kindest staff, all NVQ or CACHE qualified and English speaking. I’m always looking for kid friendly hotels as I also love my holidays! Love the sound of the Mark Warner, we’ve looked at those before and now I’m convinced! Xx
Some great finds here – the Martinhal resort looks fab especially having the flexibility of an apartment combined with the luxury of a hotel – my kind of holiday!
I’m definitely bookmarking this – as soon as we have any spare cash I really want to try somewhere like this xx
I MUST visit The Elms – I grew up in Worcestershire and am always keen to go back. Also, Mark Warner, yay! This is a fab list x
Seriously all of these places look stunning and would make a perfect break away from hectic work life – they all sound really family friendly was well which is always good in my books. Hoping to head for the sunshine at some point this year

Out of these, I’ve only been to Levante, which was incredible. I do like the sound of the other European resorts too. We went on a Forest Holidays break recently, here in the UK. It combined luxury with outdoorsy stuff – perfect, in my view!
What a perfect place
