It’s party time! Festive fashion for boys and girls

When it comes to clothing, I like kids to dress like kids. I’m talking bright clashing colours, fun prints, animal appliqué designs, neon trainers and stretchy fabrics. You can keep your ‘mini-me’ outfits like boys in flat caps and girls in leather look leggings.

Controversially, I even dislike a skinny jean on kids under the age of ten. (I know, I know, I can hear myself saying this and I sound like a strict, rule-setting kidswear prude, don’t I?) Don’t worry, it’s not like I walk around Bluewater shopping centre tutting loudly at young boys in tweed waistcoats, but I do prefer them in a bright tee with a red bus on it.

After receiving some lovely toddler red shorts and tights last Christmas, I even thought twice before dressing my two year old in them, fearing they were too mini-me, but I got over myself and now it’s actually a look I love on her.

With family gatherings and parties-a-plenty fast approaching, it’s nice to have kids looking smart but still looking like kids. This is my pick of Matalan kids’ clothes for party season. The checked shirt in the boys’ outfit balances off the smartness of the tie, and the hi-tops are neutral in colour but add a skater boy edge to the outfit. The girls’ outfit has an ace mix of girly attitude and festive sparkle…

Now I live in jumpers and jeans, which feels so alien. It’s like I just cant be bothered with dresses right now, and so little of my vintage repro wardrobe is breastfeeding friendly. Your post has made me feel a little less lazy and a little less alone.sustainability

This was so helpful! My wife and I have always tried our best to keep up with trends as they happen in the year. May earn some brownie points and buy her a little treat similar to the items you’ve shown here. Talk soon Luke.swimwear

This is a really good initiative. How I wish we can have it more than once in a year. Probably have it at least twice because Decembers are not the only time we should show some heart of kindnessswim wear

Thanks for the useful information. I study at the university and every day I see possible friends. All my friends dress in fashion and spend a lot of money on clothes. I need to write my college essay on fashion trends. I do not have time to follow fashion trends, so I read blogs about fashionable clothes.plus size boho dresses

Love that first outfit! I always hesitate to experiment with color pairings in unique ways, but I love how you pulled off that green vest and navy gingham combo! Adorable!plus size boho dresses
