Everyone loves a good hair day, don’t they? For me, they seem to be few and far between. I’m on what seems to be an endless quest to find that elusive magic combo of products that will leave me looking like Cheryl Cole (in her L’Oreal adverts, not her 2002 corn-row look).
And this week, it happened. There I was, minding my own business, getting on with my day at work and a colleague complemented me on my hair. Her: “Ooh, have you had your hair cut?” Me: “No…”
Then another.
Her: “Your hair looks pretty today. You should wear it down more often” (Fact: I wear my hair down about once a week so it’s not that rare.)
Then another. “You look pretty today.”
Then, in a meeting, the beauty editor at work, Sophie, turned to me and said, “Have you been for a posh blow dry or something?” Me: “What is it today? Everyone is complementing my hair” Her: “Well, it’s official now. The beauty editor says so.”
Uh-mazing. It was officially a good hair day. But how had it happened? I’d spent the same time getting ready as I usually do (a hurried hair wash, speedy blowdry and a quick straighten) so I can only put it down to the products I’d used. In short, I’d found my ultimate product combo.
My Good Hair Day Product Combo:
Step 1 – Wash hair with Leo Bancroft Sensationally Smooth Moisturising Shampoo
Step 2 – Use Richard Ward Seasons After Beach Hair Butter and leave in for five minutes
Step 3 – Towel dry hair and apply two squirts of L’Oreal Mythic Oil to ends of hair
Step 4 – Blow dry hair with head upside down, spray GHD Heat Protect spray and run GHDs through hair
(But ssshh! Don’t tell too many people or everyone will look better than us.)

Every time I use any oils of sort, even tiny amounts I feel my hair looks so greasy. I’m very jealous of you finding your winning combination! I’m still searching, but I might try the Shampoo you mention, so thank you
Looks fab! Love Mythic oil too!

*Bookmarks post* *rushes to Boots* I’ve yet to try hair oil but my hair is MASSIVE so if it helps in my quest for the anti-bouff then I’ll love you forever.

Try it. Honestly. It’s amazing. My instinct before I tried it was ‘hmm, but won’t that just make my hair look greasy?’ but it doesn’t (as long as you apply to midlengths and ends, not roots – I made that mistake today when I put my hair in a topknot and smoothed flyaways down with some oil.)
