The other week, we spent a Sunday afternoon with some friends. We had lunch, then wandered around Sevenoaks in the sunshine before finding a lovely little restaurant with a leafy courtyard. We sat, drinking prosecco cocktails while the kids played games and had a great old time. I texted my friend later that night…
It got me thinking about Mum Maths – there are some situations that can always be either predicted or explained by a simple sum. A Mum Sum, if you will. Here are some of them…
What do you think – do you have any more Mum Sums you’d add?
LOVE this. All so, so true. I would add:
Child with a cold + work clothes = you’re getting changed, snotstain
and
iPad + banana = 30 more minutes in bed for mum
The last calculation is my total favourite!!
(Everything packed + trying to catch the 9:50 to London – potty stop for the toddler) / an attempt to have an enjoyable family day out = a poo explosion in the nappy of the newborn
Mum Mathematics I absolutely love this Ali… so funny and yet so true too! lol
I love this idea, at the moment some of ours are, swimming + cafe + park = long nap, catching up on the sky plus. Cousins + grandparents = happy Sundays. Car + tired toddler + no dummy + no teddy = screaming toddler
all the way home!
Ha ha, this is so true! I would add Local pub for dinner + Baby asleep = Result! Wow, the list could go on for ever – I can see some more complex equations here too! I was just stalking your blog so think I initially posted this elsewhere on your site – feel free to delete! 🙂
Haha, I love this! I don’t have children yet, but I have a pregnancy one for you:
Exhausted mumma to be + chance to get an early night = baby having a party while trampolining on your bladder xx
