PodPads: How We’ll Be Glamping At Camp Bestival

As I’ve previously mentioned, I’m not an experienced camper. In fact, I’m so bloody useless at camping that one year, my then-boyfriend-now-husband and I went to Reading Festival, borrowed a tent from our friend’s dad (we were 22 and couldn’t afford to buy one), didn’t practice putting it up before we went (I bet you can tell where this is heading…) and it turned out to be a fishing shelter tent. So not a proper tent at all then.

I think we only lasted one wet night and ended up driving home early to our nice warm, comfy bed.

So it’s probably no surprise at ALL really that I have opted to go glamping rather than full on camping at Camp Bestival this weekend. I should add here that I really wish I was the kind of person who embraced proper camping. Maybe I just need practice? A few cheeky local camping trips, knowing that I can jump in the car and head home if the going gets rough could be in order.

But for now, I’m going for a slightly easier option than being in a tent. Just LOOK at these amazing huts and posh tents by PodPads

PodPads - Glamping at Camp Bestival

PodPads come in a few shapes and sizes – from small wooden huts to large bell tents to 2-person unidomes. We’ve booked a BunkPad which has two bunk beds in (BAGSY the top bunk!). I have to be honest – I’m a lot more comfortable with the thought of being in a lockable plywood hut than under some nylon. The BunkPads are even furnished with shelves, hanging storage, a waste bin and coat hooks – and it EVEN comes with lights and 240v electrics so we can charge our phones using our car charger. WOOP.

If you love the idea of it. PodPads aren’t just at Camp Bestival – they’re at loads of festivals around the country – and get this, they’re starting to branch out into personal PodPads so you can buy one for your back garden to give you extra space for guests to stay, office space or a kids’ play house. (I want one.)

Psst! Boring disclosure rules mean that I have to tell you that PodPads have given me a healthy discount – but all views are mine.
