Do you have your Christmas party outfit yet?

From the ritual of eating a stomach lining carb-crazy pasta lunch to the giddy high of those first sips of fizz and even the moment you wake up the following morning filled with paranoia over that drunken conversation you had with your boss/colleague/friend’s boyfriend, Christmas parties are unforgettable.

Over the years, one of my biggest Christmas party highs has been dancing to Girls Aloud’s The Promise with four friends in my kitchen…

Christmas parties, party wear, Burberry, Flannels

…and one of my biggest Christmas party lows was climbing into a giant present box with three colleagues to pose for photos (we’d had around eight mojitos by this point and it seemed like a good idea.)

Shopping for a Christmas party outfit can be a right mare. Do you go for skinny jeans and a jazzy top? A dress? A jumpsuit? Thankfully, this year, the mag I’m working on has a Wigs & Woollies dress code at our party, so the pressure is off. But it doesn’t stop me from window shopping for lots of pretty things that I can’t afford. Here’s my pick of what designer store Flannels has to offer. They have everything from UK Burberry fashion to Markus Lupfer knits (and we all know how much I love his designs) to classic Choo peep toes. Drool…

Glad it’s not just me! My Christmas party is next weekend and I’m officially panicking. I’ve taken Friday off for Christmas shopping bu I need to prioritise. so, I’ll be searching the high street for a sparkly, but not too revealing, party dress. X x X

I really love those Jimmy Choo shoes.
And great pic of you too – love the festive reindeer antlers ;-)

The Choos are amazing aren’t they? And they’d go with everything. (Oh and I’m not wearing antlers but it made me giggle as the fairy lights on the wall DO look like antlers!)

That DVF dress is just gorgeous! I think the Christmas party (and the shopping that comes with it!) is one of the very few things that I miss about not working anymore ;-)

It is pretty, isn’t it? You could throw your own Christmas bash – you don’t need a company to organise it for you. That pic was taken in my kitchen at a Christmas party four years ago…
